Elizabeth

A classical study paying homage to a master.

A fellow artist introduced me to the work of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, a French sculptor from the 19th century. I was enthralled with his ability to bring solid pieces of marble and bronze to life. Elizabeth is the first of what I hope to be many homages to this master.

The high poly bust was sculpted in ZBrush. I transferred my work to Blender where I modeled the pedestal and retopologized the two together into the final low poly model.

Working with Substance Painter, I studied marble and stone textures to evoke the feeling of classical sculpture.
