Memento Mori

An exploration of anatomy, lighting and environment design.

This project started as an anatomical study in ZBrush based off a cast of a skull in my studio.

It evolved into a scene reminiscent of classic adventure stories featuring long lost treasure. I sculpted this quick environment to hint at a moldering dungeon inspired by European castles.

Using Substance Painter, I experimented with aging and wear inspired by real skulls. To inspire others to start their own anatomical journey, I uploaded the skull model to Sketchfab as a free download.
